ISS Newsletter November 2008

Hamburg, 12. November 2008

Dear Service Professional,Blick von der ISS auf den Osterbekkanal

are you also experiencing that everything is rotating faster?

As long as one is also in the driver’s seat and holds pole position, all is well - nevertheless a few turbulences could have been spared. Reactions on the crisis are various - some industries are affected, some remain completely unaffected, some stop all expenses, while others invest -especially now- in their customer relations, with the motto being: consultative selling in difficult times.

Activities have also increased at ISS - however, intended and coordinated.

Next week our MBA students will be travelling to Sweden to one of the largest European Service Research Centers at Karlstad University. Simultaneously the admission assessments for the commencing second MBA course will be taking place January 2009. The next assessment will be held on 24 November! Towards the end of November, there will also be a final conference of a BMBF-Research project in Düsseldorf, which Prof. Dr. Boehmann will be supervising.

On 24 September we were able to welcome 18 company presidents and managing board members of world leading companies attending the ISS business forum in Hamburg. Together with Prof. Dr. Simon ("Hidden Champions") and further 80 participants the "future strategies" for the coming five years have been assessed - a very exciting and top-class event.
This year ISS has been operating alongside research, teaching and company discussion boards in business advice and trainings in all ranges of services. The number of international attendants at the management trainings and the MBAs brings me personal joy.

Take a look through our Newsletter to discover the diversity of ISS - contact us if you would like to find out more or if you have any feedback or comments. We would appreciate a conversation with you.

With best regards,
Sincerely,

ISS International Business School
of Service Management
