The MBA study programme Service Management has been designed for experienced professionals who are in charge of the development, design and marketing of services. The study programme resorts to the professional experience of the participants and integrates their knowledge actively into the learning process.
The Common European Guidelines for MBA study programmes recommend a minimun of two years of postgraduate full-time professional experience. This time span is the preferred one for ISS candidates. The German National Guidelines for MBA study programmes require a minimum of one year of postgraduate full-time professional experience. This time span is accepted by the ISS Hamburg.

a) MBA Service Management (60 Credit Points)
Course Description:
The MBA study programme with a total of 60 credit points requires a Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree with 240 ECTS credt points as entrance qualification hence the MBA diploma can be obtained (300 ECTS).
This MBA study programme addresses primarily M.A. graduates who intend to further their academic skills.

b) MBA Service Management (120 Credit Points)
Course Description:
The MBA study programme with a total of 120 credit points requires a Bachelor's degree with 180 ECTS credit points as entrance qualification.
In this study programme various module from the two ISS M.A. programmes are presented in order to further elaborate on the Topic of General Management.
The curriculum contains the core topics of Service Management. The students attain competent knowledge as well as vital decision-making skills in each module which enhance their competence in their real-life work practice. The specialisation enables students to set individual priorities. The 20 modules do not build up on each other, resulting in a possible free study entrance, which is not tied to any specific enrolment dates. It is furthermore possible for the students to design their individual study schedule according to their own interests and needs, since the modules are not arranged in a consecutive order. A preparatory course establishes the framework for the study programme as a whole and depicts the significance and contents of each individual module.
In total, the study programme consists of 940 contact hours.
Course Structure:
The study programme consists of 20 compulsory modules with a value of 5 credit points each, and the 21st module which is reserved for the composition of the Master's Thesis.
Modules 1 to 9 have either 50 or 42 contact hours. In addtition to the on-campus seminars and lectures there are preliminary and subsequent webinars for which the students are requested to prepare themselves on their own account.
